This course is designed to teach the responder the basic principles of firefighting and complete the Virginia Department of Fire Programs certification process for Firefighter I and II.   The course includes the Hazardous Materials First Responder : Operations Level and MayDay! Firefighter Down! secondary courses necessary for complete certification.     You must be a member of a fire department PRIOR TO the start of class.

 To enroll, follow these instructions:

 1.  Go to this link and register with the Virginia Department of Fire Program's Cornerstone system:  cs.fcfrd.com.    Only residents of Frederick County and Winchester are eligible to register for right now.   After August 1st, the registration process will open for other departments.

2.  Once you create your account, log into the system and click on the "Calendar" icon.    Go to August 24th and click on the "Firefighter Academy Bundle".   You will be prompted to register in the class from there.
